Captain Jason Deichler is an experienced nuclear submarine major commander with a background in the nuclear and military industry. While in command of Submarine Squadron TWO at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, he is driving innovation and readiness by integrating cutting-edge advanced manufacturing technologies into fleet maintenance and modernization. He is the submarine force's lead on advanced manufacturing. Deichler has previously served as commanding officer of USS Pittsburgh (SSN-720), executive officer of USS Asheville (SSN-758), and engineer of USS Springfield (SSN-761). He has also worked on the OPNAV and Submarine Force Atlantic staffs and served as director of training at the Naval Submarine School. Deichler holds a Master of Engineering focused in Engineering/Industrial Management from Carnegie Mellon University.
