Warfare Tactics Instructor, Naval Submarine Learning Center
LT MacGregor W. Baxter, a native of Folsom, CA, graduated from the Virginia Military Institute in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Mathematics.
He began initial fleet training in January 2021 at Nuclear Power School and completed initial nuclear training at Nuclear Power Training Unit (NPTU) in Charleston, South Carolina. He completed Submarine Officer Basic Course in Groton, Connecticut.
Following initial fleet training, he reported to USS Indiana (SSN 789) in Groton, CT. On board USS Indiana, he served as Main Propulsion Assistant, Chemical Radiological Assistant, Quality Assurance Officer and Assistant Operations Officer. During this assignment, he executed two EUCOM deployments, one to the North Atlantic and one to the Mediterranean, a NORTHCOM deployment in support of Operation Ice Camp 2024, and three Submarine Command Courses.
LT Baxter currently serves as the Navigator for Submarine Training Facility San Diego. His personal awards include the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2).
